Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Ending Explained Video below:

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 season 2 had an interesting, yet confusing ending. I found it to leave us with more questions than answers.

In episode 11 “Doomsday/The Moon Over The Ruined Castle” we see nukes fired and it looks as if the world will end; the posthumans won. But in episode 12 “Double Think/Event Boundary” everything looks as if it worked out.

What is going on with episode 12?

Does The Major Pull The Cord?

Major Matoko Kusanagi figures out that she’s not in a brain maze, but what happened? She wakes up in a pod and finds the fully AI Purin Ezaki; the two go to speak with Takashi Shimamura.

Is this the real world? What happened with the nuclear missile launch? Why does the Major decide to leave? Where does she go? Was this all a dream?
