It’s been quite a while since I really devoured an anime. Give me some anime recommendations!

In the last 5 years, I’ve really only watched a single anime; Dragon Ball Super.

There have been times where I attempted to start a new series (before my girlfriend moved into my apartment, I was watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood).

Last year, I started watching Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans (building the Gundam models sparked my interest). I enjoyed what I saw, but it’s been months since I’ve viewed an episode. Looks like I’ll have to restart it.

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about anime — how much I really enjoy it. How it fills my desire for weird-ass stories.

The popularity of Game of Thrones and the Marvel Universe films prove that shows and film in fantasy or science fiction can appeal to the masses. We’re already seeing the trend continue with shows such as Netflix’s The Witcher.

A better medium for non-generic stories is obviously, books. My problem has always been that I’m such a slow reader. I don’t get to experience novels nearly as much a I should be. My stack of “to-read” books is grows by the month.

Video games offer another medium for out-of-the-box stories, especially with Role Playing Games. Although, they tend to hit the same box as books, as they typically take: 30, 40, 50 or more hours to complete. Hell, even 15-20 hours is a long time to devote to a single game.

This article from IGN planted the anime seed in my head when I stumbled across it a few weeks ago. I’ve made a list of show’s to check out, based off this list. But I would really appreciate more anime recommendations!
